Can survey sites make you a few quid?
Yes, a few quid. Not a wage. Survey sites are best treated as something to do while the kettle boils, not as a way out of a tight month.

How they actually pay
Most sites pay in points that turn into cash, PayPal or vouchers once you reach a minimum threshold. You often start a survey and get screened out partway through, sometimes with a tiny consolation reward, sometimes nothing.
Work out your hourly rate
Time yourself for a week and divide what you earned by the hours spent. For most people the figure is well below the minimum wage. If it is, keep it strictly to dead time.
Red flags
Any site that asks you to pay to join, wants your bank login, or promises hundreds of pounds a month. Genuine panels are free, and you should never need to hand over more than a payment email.
Protect your inbox
Use a separate email address for survey panels. Expect more marketing, and read how your data is shared before signing up.
Tax
Small amounts of side income may be covered by the £1,000 trading allowance. Check HMRC's guidance if you earn more or do several side jobs.
The verdict
Survey sites can add up to a small treat or a voucher every so often. If you need real money quickly, a benefits check or a bill switch will usually do far more in the same hour.
