Methodology

How every number earns its place

1. Start with a comparable basis

Each category states its unit, such as annual bill, monthly plan, weekly basket or interest rate. We do not mix incompatible units in one ranking.

2. Check the primary source

We favour provider pages, regulators and government guidance. Every displayed provider row carries its source and checked date. Postcode-dependent figures are clearly marked.

3. Rank only comparable offers

Cost categories rank lower comparable prices first. Return categories rank higher rates first. Personal insurance is quote-based, so providers are listed without a fabricated universal cheapest price.

4. Record important conditions

Contract length, introductory pricing, data or speed allowances, eligibility and material exit terms belong beside the figure or in the money-move guidance.

5. Correct rather than simulate

Rankings change only when a sourced figure changes. We do not generate artificial daily price movement. Corrections can be sent through our contact form.
